Overhead cranes are a type of lifting equipment, frequently used in factories. Therefore, crane maintenance is crucial. Below are some daily maintenance items for overhead cranes:
1. Maintenance of Motors and Gearboxes
To master the essence of crane component maintenance technology, you should regularly check the temperature of the motor casing and bearing parts, and whether there are any abnormal noises or vibrations from the motor.
In frequent start-up situations, the low speed causes reduced ventilation and cooling capacity, and the current is large, so the motor temperature will rise quickly. Therefore, attention should be paid to ensure that the motor temperature rise does not exceed the upper limit specified in the instruction manual.
Adjust the brake according to the requirements of the motor instruction manual.
Daily maintenance of the gearbox can refer to the manufacturer's instruction manual. The gearbox foot bolts should be checked regularly to ensure they are not loose.
2. Lubrication of the Running Gear
Secondly, in crane component maintenance technology, good ventilation and lubrication should be remembered. When using, the gearbox vent cap should be opened first to ensure good ventilation and reduce internal pressure. Before operation, check whether the height of the gearbox lubricating oil meets the requirements. If it is lower than the normal oil level, add the same type of lubricating oil in time.
The bearings of each wheel of the running gear are filled with sufficient lubricating grease (calcium-based lubricating grease) during assembly and do not require daily refueling. Every two months, lubricating grease can be added through the oil injection hole or by opening the bearing cover. The lubricating grease should be removed, cleaned, and replaced once a year.
Lubricate the meshing points of all open gears once a week.
3. Maintenance of the Hoisting Machine Group
Regularly observe the oil window of the crane gearbox to check whether the lubricating oil level is within the specified range. If it is lower than the specified oil level, add lubricating oil in time.
If the crane is not used frequently and the sealing condition and operating environment are good, the lubricating oil in the gearbox should be changed every six months. In harsh operating environments, it should be changed every quarter. If water is found in the crane box or there are always bubbles on the oil surface and the oil is determined to have deteriorated, the oil should be changed immediately. When changing the oil, strictly follow the oil type specified in the gearbox instruction manual and avoid mixing oil types.
